Image 1 is a pen camera. This is one of a kind pen camera that was custom-designed with jewelry. The production process is very complex and challenging if you do not have special skills and precious metals. Even for professional jewelers, it could pose a great challenge to proceed without drawings. ddd

However, this challenge can be easily overcome by using 3D scanner because it can instantly acquire accurate representations of the parts. Let's take a look at the design process involving Solutionx's Rexcan DS3 structured light scanner.

The most important thing to consider when creating an outer shape of Ready-made product is how well it fits with the other parts. It's often very difficult to design an exact shape according to the taken photos an measured dimensions.  

Image 4 shows  the results of the 3D scanning with Rexcan DS3. The Rexcan DS3 is equipped with 5.0 Mega Pixel cameras delivering scan data with highest detail. It merely requires minimal modification from the scan data to create rooms for the jewelry (gem) setting.

After modifying the data, the output from the 3D printer confirms that it is matching perfectly with the original piece.
